FBR IT export tax calculator for Pakistan freelancers

This calculator gives a quick estimate of withholding tax on export proceeds covered by Section 154A. It is especially useful for Pakistani freelancers, software exporters and IT-enabled service providers who receive foreign client payments through banking channels.

0.25% vs 1% export-of-services rate

For the current Tax Year 2027 rate card, the reduced 0.25% rate applies to export proceeds of computer software, IT services or IT-enabled services by persons registered with the Pakistan Software Export Board. The rate card shows 1% for other cases under Section 154A.

What this calculator does not calculate

This tool estimates the withholding amount on the export proceeds you enter. It does not prepare an income tax return, determine whether a receipt legally qualifies as an IT/ITeS export, check ATL status, calculate provincial sales tax, or replace advice from FBR or a tax professional. If your main income is employment salary instead of export proceeds, use the salary tax calculator Pakistan tool instead.

Before relying on the result

Confirm your PSEB status and the nature of your remittance. Tax rules can change through a Finance Act, notification or amendment, so the official FBR rate card and Income Tax Ordinance should be treated as the final source.
